John R. Brice, President/CEO

Bringing 27 years of publishing, production, and management experience to Campus Publishers, John’s professional publishing background is quite extensive. Not only has he worked for major market newspapers such as the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune, he also had an 11-year tenure with Crain Communications in New York. At Crain, John held management positions as National Advertising Director and Director of Custom Publishing for Advertising Age magazine. Most recently, John held the title of Publisher and Managing Director of Creativity Magazine. Since John purchased Campus Publishers in 1999, he and his team have repositioned the company from a telephone directory publisher to its position as a leading national magazine publisher for the university market.

Jill Nagel-Brice, Vice President

Jill is a native of New York and an entrepreneur. She joined Campus Publishers in 2003 and has become an integral part of the team. Jill is responsible for the development and procurement of new university contracts. Her successes include the University of Colorado, Purdue University, Boise State University and many more. Additionally, she consults on the company’s business strategies, schedules, and new hires for the telemarketing department.

Michael M. Bookmyer, Director of Sales

With more than 26 years of advertising sales, marketing, and publishing experience, Mike brings a wealth of valuable publishing knowledge to the Campus Publishers team. Mike’s background includes 10 years with Time magazine in Detroit and, most recently, Director of Sales for HOUR Custom Publishing, where he directed the sales efforts for a variety of custom published magazines. Additional experience includes a background in integrated marketing, event marketing, and direct-mail programs. Mike understands the selling and publishing process and is very creative in his approach.

Mark Strobel, National Sales Manager

With more than two decades of sales, marketing, consulting, and management expertise, Mark has hired and trained countless professional salespeople and has developed several highly successful national sales organizations. He was founder and president of The Achievement Group, representing many of this country’s top sales trainers and expert speakers, and producing over 1000 major seminars and conventions. Mark not only has the ability to motivate and manage large sales teams, he also demonstrates a high degree of creativity in his development and implementation of marketing materials, sales training, and systems.

Tamara Barnes, Production Manager

With more than 12 years of publishing experience, Tamara joined Campus Publishers in 2004 as a Production Assistant. Since then, Campus Publishers has grown exponentially and Tamara now manages the Production Department. As the driving force behind the production of every university visitors’ guide magazine, Tamara oversees the day-to-day details as well as managing the big picture. Tamara’s diverse professional history includes positions with The Johns Hopkins University Press and Vegetarian Journal in Baltimore, Maryland.

Lauren McNitt, Production Assistant

Lauren joined Campus Publishers in 2007, after receiving a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Colorado State University. She grew up in Boulder, and is happy to be back after five years in Fort Collins. Lauren has nine years of experience in customer service, and is excited to be a part of the publishing world.
