About Us

Founded in 1988, Campus Publishers produces high quality, customized Official Visitor's Guide Magazines and websites for universities of all sizes. Purchased by the Redrock Publishing Company in 1999, we continue to operate as Campus Publishers. In 2002, Campus Publishers created the Official University Visitor’s Guide Magazine concept and produced the first publications in 2003 for the University of South Florida, University of Alabama and University of Washington. Today we are the leading national publisher of Official University Visitor's Guide Magazines and companion websites.

Our Team

Campus Publishers employs a full-time, professional management team. The sales staff is managed by Director of Sales/Associate Publisher Randy Goldner and overseen by company CEO John Brice. Our professional sales personnel sell advertising face-to-face and through our telemarketing operations in the home office. They provide our advertising clients with creative marketing solutions to assist in increasing the clients' business. Our professional production department is managed by Tamara Barnes, Production Manager, who oversees all aspects of the production of over thirty publications and websites.

John R. Brice, CEO / Owner
Bringing 30 years of publishing, financial, production, sales, and executive management experience to Campus Publishers, John's professional publishing background is quite extensive. Not only has he worked for major market newspapers such as the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune, he also had an 11-year tenure with Crain Communications in New York. At Crain, John held management positions as National Advertising Director and Director of Custom Publishing for Advertising Age magazine. He also held the title of Publisher and Managing Director of Creativity Magazine. John then purchased Campus Publishers in 1999. He and his team have repositioned the company from a telephone directory publisher to its current position as a leading national publisher of Official University Visitor’s Guide magazines and websites. In 2009, Campus Publishers launched universityvisitorsnetwork.com, a guide to the college selection process. This consumer website provides statistical data as well as community and lifestyle information on each of over 1,500 universities and colleges in the United States. Included in the profiles are photos, links, articles, videos, UVN college blog, and daily educational news.

Jill Nagel-Brice, President / Owner
Jill joined Campus Publishers in 2002 and is an integral part of the team. Jill is responsible for the acquisition of new University Guide contracts. Her successes include the addition of more than 30 new university clients, including the University of Colorado, Purdue, University of Maryland, Ohio State, Michigan, Hawaii and many more. Additionally, she consults on the company's business strategies and schedules, and is also the Campus Publishers' Human Resources Manager. If you're looking to add value to your college's recruitment and education efforts with a beautiful, four-color Official Visitor’s Guide, Jill can show you samples and walk you through a standard development and production process.

Randy Goldner, Associate Publisher
Randy brings more than two decades of experience in helping marketers achieve their sales and branding goals through effective, integrated marketing packages. He has worked at some of the largest publishing companies in the U.S., including Penton, Primedia and American Lawyer. He has extensive experience in both B2C and B2B marketing, and worked in high-tech publishing in 1995 when the Internet was just taking off. Randy guides the sales effort at Campus Publishers on both strategic and tactical levels, from managing our largest accounts to hiring and training new salespeople. Randy knows from experience that the best salespeople focus on understanding a marketer's goals and needs and crafting marketing proposals that exceed those needs and ultimately help the customer deploy powerful advertising as an extension of their own marketing department.

Tamara Barnes, Production Manager
With more than 18 years of publishing experience, Tamara joined Campus Publishers in 2004 as a Production Assistant. Since then, Campus Publishers has grown exponentially and Tamara now manages the Production Department. As the driving force behind the production of every university visitor’s guide magazine and website, Tamara oversees the day-to-day details as well as managing the big picture. Tamara's diverse professional history includes positions with The Johns Hopkins University Press and Vegetarian Journal in Baltimore, Maryland.
